Cagayan de Oro City — SEERS PMGI demonstrated its strong commitment to organizational resilience and emergency readiness as it successfully conducted its 2025 Business Continuity Plan (BCP) Fire Drill and Simulation on October 13, 2025, at the El Corp Compound in Burgos–Pacana Streets, Brgy. 7. The activity was facilitated by the fire marshals of Barangay 8 Fire Station 1A, who guided the entire drill and ensured compliance with fire safety protocols.
The drill simulated a scenario in which a fire breaks out inside the compound during office hours, testing SEERS’ capacity to protect its people, critical documents, IT systems, and essential operations. All employees from SEERS PMGI and other business units within the compound participated in the half-day exercise.
The activity began with a comprehensive pre-drill orientation focusing on fire behavior, fire classifications, proper extinguisher use through the TPASS method, and the management of different types of fires. Employees were also briefed on the use of fire blankets, alarms, and other anti-fire tools—strengthening their knowledge and confidence in responding to real-life emergencies.
Once the alarm sounded, SEERS employees executed a safe and orderly evacuation, guided by designated fire marshals. Staff were also instructed on securing essential documents and CPUs, while a team was deployed to bring sensitive files to a nearby alternate office approximately one kilometer away. At the assembly point, a roll call was completed to confirm that all personnel were accounted for.
A mock fire suppression exercise followed, where trained responders demonstrated proper handling of small, manageable fires. Post-fire protocols included the inspection of fireproof vaults, inventory checks, and immediate relocation to the backup worksite to evaluate operational recovery procedures.
During the debriefing, evaluators noted that SEERS performed strongly in incident management, communication strategies, team coordination, and the recovery of essential functions. However, minor improvements were recommended in the restoration of IT systems and voice communication lines to further enhance the BCP’s efficiency.
Overall, the drill received a PASSED rating, affirming SEERS PMGI’s preparedness and its adherence to BCP standards and fire safety regulations. The activity reinforced the organization’s commitment to safeguarding its employees and ensuring business continuity in the face of unexpected emergencies.
SEERS PMGI extended its gratitude to Barangay 8 Fire Station 1A for their guidance, expertise, and support in the successful conduct of the drill.
